The Create New Patron feature is available below any results on the patron search results screen.

Search for a patron. On the search results screen, click Create New Patron.
On the Enter Patron Information window, fill in the fields. Fields with asterisks (*) are required. See Basic User Data for more information.
Resolve duplicate barcode or user name
1. If the system detects a duplicate barcode or user name, a warning message will appear and you will be unable to create the new patron.
2. Replace the duplicate with an unused barcode or user name.
Click Create.

Basic User Data

Some profile fields need explanation.

Field Description Blocked ?Blocked users have their library privileges suspended. Use a staff note to indicate the reason for the block. Blocks placed by staff can be overridden in the same way as blocks placed by the system. See Block a patron for more information. Collection Exempt Reserved for future functionality. Preferred Name Patron's preferred first name.

A patron's preferred name can be added or edited in the Basic User Data section in World Share Admin.Expiration DateThe Expiration Date determines when circulation privileges expire. The patron's circulation privileges will expire on the date entered at 11:59:59 PM. Home Branch Required. Patron's preferred library branch ID Verified Indicates whether patron's identity established via acceptable ID (driver's license, etc.)Patron Type Required. The kind of account the patron has (student, faculty, child, adult, etc.)Notes

A note written by library staff about the patron. Multiple notes may be added.

Staff notes are not visible to patrons in World Cat Discovery, but are visible on the checkout screen.

Public notes are not visible to patrons in World Cat Discovery and can be configured to display on the checkout screen. This feature is optional and must be activated by the library in OCLC Service Configuration (World Share Circulation>Admin/General>Display Patron Information). For more information, see Display Patron Information.

Staff and public notes can display in a pop-up by typing an exclamation mark (!) at the beginning of a note. Pop-up notes will display when the patron account is initially accessed.

Copyright your songs

You copyright your song, first ensure it's fixed in a tangible form, like a recording or written lyrics. What is NOT Protected

Ideas, concepts, and chord progressions: Copyright protects the expression of an idea, not the idea itself.
Song titles: These are not protected by copyright.

The Rights of a Copyright Owner

A copyright holder has exclusive rights, including:

To distribute copies of the work.

What Are Royalty Splits
Royalty splits are agreements that divide the earnings from a song or musical project among the people involved in its creation, such as songwriters, producers, and artists. These percentages, which must total 100%, are established through negotiation and can be managed and distributed automatically by digital music services. Royalty splits ensure that everyone who contributed to a project receives their fair share of the revenue from streams, sales, and other uses.

How Royalty Splits Work

Collaboration and Agreement:

When multiple individuals work on a song, they agree on a percentage of the total royalties that each person will receive.

Setting the Splits:

These percentages are then entered into the music distribution platform. For example, a four-person band might decide on 25% for each member, or a producer and an artist might split a song 50/50.
